Linkedin is thirsty for Trans+ content

Linkedin is geriatric to me in the way it takes you to a completely different page if you tab over to the notifications and the way racists add BIPOC people as connections just to debate their rights in the comment sections for engagement.

I hate the application design, love the free analytics and insights it gives on posts without a “business plan” but to a lot of queer and trans people, Linkedin is not a friendly face in our socials.

I hang out on linkedin doing half-assed shit, like posting old popular blogs and adopting the “linkedin influencer” ledes where I make people click “read more” just to follow a hyperlink. Like I said, I’m not trying to do anything special.

but linkedin LOVES trans people, and especially content about how to be trans at work (lol). It feels so cringe sharing tips on how to NOT misgender people, and how to come out at work because I don’t want to miss that one individual looking for this information. It’s tough to know how deep to get when Linkedin clearly responds to witty, snippy and surface level information.

If you’re a trans person wondering how the heck to vibe on Linkedin, my advice would be: don’t. Pop in there to share what sort of jobs you’re looking for, tell a rousing story where you felt really trans, or share examples of how cisgender people drop the ball daily on including trans folks in intros. You’ve got this.

So while my soul is actually playing Hades (just beat my first boss!) and snuggling my cats, my busy little bee brain is copying and pasting content into Linked in, and average 15k impressions while all these folks are learning about trans people for the first…maybe second time?

ANYWAYS; if you want my purple-haired menace energy at the helm of your content plan, you get full-ass, fun content made just for you and your business.
